소개About
서울대학교 비교문화연구소 연구원이자 KAIST 디지털인문사회과학부 강사이며 영화감독입니다. 연세대학교 매체와예술연구소 연구교수를 역임했습니다. I am a researcher at the Institute for Comparative Cultural Studies, Seoul National University, a lecturer at KAIST's School of Digital Humanities and Computational Social Sciences, and a film director. I previously served as a research professor at the Institute of Media Art, Yonsei University.
서강대학교, 시카고예술학교(SAIC), 국립조형예술학교(ENSBA), 하버드대학교에서 수학하며 철학과 컴퓨터공학, 영화 제작과 이론, 영상문화연구를 수행한 영상학 박사로, 인문학·예술·공학을 아우르는 융합적 전공 배경을 지니고 있습니다. I studied at Sogang University, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and Harvard University, working across philosophy, computer science, filmmaking, film theory, and visual culture studies — an interdisciplinary background spanning the humanities, the arts, and engineering.
영화감독으로서 극영화 제작으로 노마딕 프로젝트(2003–2011)와 시네마틱 초상화 다큐멘터리 프로젝트(2017–2023)를 통해 부산국제영화제 등에서 주목받았습니다. 한국연구재단 학술연구교수로서 연구를 수행하며 이론과 실기를 통합해 왔습니다. 최근에는 AI 단편영화를 제작하며 플랫폼 노동, 기능성 게임, K-콘텐츠를 연구하고 있습니다. As a director, my Nomadic Project (2003–2011) of narrative features and my Cinematic Portrait Documentary Project (2017–2023) have screened at the Busan International Film Festival and elsewhere. As an NRF-funded research professor I have worked to integrate theory and practice. More recently I have been making AI short films while researching platform labor, serious games, and K-content.
